Locomotive Audio 14BsWe’re happy to announce that in conjunction with the St. Louis chapter of the Audio Engineering Society, we’ll be hosting Eric Strouth of Locomotive Audio on Wednesday, February 25th, 2015.  He’ll be presenting his company’s gear and making it available for those interested to get hands on with it and hear what it can do.  We’ll have a number of instruments set up in our live room to audition his 286A preamp and Model 14B compressor.  We also encourage attendees to bring any files that they would like to hear run through the units.  You can read more about Locomotive Audio’s products on their website.  Below you’ll find the official AES announcement along with the details of the event:

From St. Louis AES Chair Bill Schulenburg

Still looking forward to our Audio Engineering Society meeting Tuesday evening February 24 at CJ Muggs, but we’d also like to announce an additional activity for Wednesday evening Feb 25…

Eric Strouth of Locomotive Audio’s presentation at our December meeting was a big success and many members and guests expressed a strong desire to hear the locally-built preamps and compressors in action. Brian Scheffer of Firebrand Recording has offered to host an open house Wednesday evening Feb 25 from 6-9pm where he and Eric will have the units up and running with tracks and studio sound sources available for auditioning. Come for a few minutes or a couple of hours, talk to the designer himself and see and hear the real-world characteristics of the preamp and compressor we learned about at our last meeting. If you’d like to bring your own track or sound source for listening please do.
Wednesday February 25, 6-9pm at Firebrand Recording, 11708 Lackland Industrial Dr. 63146
See you there!
Bill Schulenburg, Chair
